Finally got round to settling on a theme, and personalizing it. After trying several, I eventually settled on the Suffusion theme you see now, and those of you who have come here from David McMurdo’s blog may vaguely recognise it as being the same theme he uses on his site. It is a great theme, covers pretty much all options and makes it very easy to modify, most CSS changes can be done straight from the theme admin interface. Things like changing colours are a dawdle, instead of doing a mass-replace of colour references in the CSS file, you can just change the value of one box in the admin. I’ve made various tweaks to make it look as different as possible from David’s, after all, I’d hate to be thought as some sort of copy-cat, hanging on the coat-tails of a friends site. David has been good enough to link here, and to mention this site from time to time, but I doubt his audience is all that interested in what I have to say, especially when I post very rarely. In the end, I have to start creating content that will attract my own audience, and stop faffing around adjusting small visual details.
